Śrī Ślokāmṛtam : The Sublime Nectar of Vaisnava Verses - Revised Ed.
Śrī Ślokāmṛtam – the nectar of verses - is a rich treasure of sublime verses from the ancient wisdom tradition of India, called the Vedic scriptures. It is full of deep spiritual, metaphysical and philosophical insights which are as relevant to our present times as it was thousands of years ago. It is also poetic and genuinely expressive of heart-felt sentiments we all share as humans and as spiritual beings aspiring for the perfection of eternal happiness and love.
Coming in Bhakti Yoga tradition, this is one of the best śloka (verse) books ever. It contains about 2500 verses from famous Vedic literatures (Gaudiya Vaisnava tradition) such as the Bhagavad-Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam and Sri Caitanya-caritamrita. It is divided according to tattva (philosophical principles) into three sections: Sambandha (relationships), Abhideya (spiritual practice) and Prayojana (the ultimate goal of life). It is arranged according to topics such as Guru Tattva, Krishna Tattva, Bhakti Tattva etc. It was first compiled in 2006 under the guidance of Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayan Gosvami Maharaja but has been out of print since then. This present edition is a thoroughly revised and much improved, reader friendly, and rasika version of the original compilation. The comprehensive Śloka Index at the beginning of the book makes it easy to find any śloka one is looking for.
The emphasis is on raganuga bhakti (spontaneous bhakti in the mood of Vrāja), Rādhā dāsyam and manjari bhāva, but all practicing devotees and spiritually aspiring practitioners would find it a treasure from both aspects of tattva (spiritual principles) and rasa (spiritual flavours).
We are happy to present this new revised edition for the pleasure of our worshipable Śrī Guru, Śrī Nitāi-Gaurāṅga and Śrī Rādhā-Krishna as well as all devotees, aspiring devotees and anyone desiring to awaken their spiritual consciousness. We hope that this book would help all its readers to awaken their bhakti, deepen their spiritual experience, and strengthen their faith in transcendental reality. We pray that our efforts will be pleasing and help awaken our heart connection to the Divine Couple, Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Krishna.
Radhe Radhe!
